Medical Grade Body Composition Analysis

What is Body Composition?

Body composition is a method of breaking down your body into its core components: fat, muscle, and water. It gives you a more in-depth understanding of your weight and health, helps you track nutrition, exercise, and fitness progress, and uses the power of data to set you up for success.

What is it Important?

Body composition is a more accurate measure of your weight and health than Body Mass Index (BMI) because it divides your weight into fat, muscle, and water. It tells you exactly what you’re losing, gaining, or maintaining. With body composition analysis, you can measure your fat and muscle mass, track your progress, and make any changes needed to meet your goals.

Why Take an InBody Test?

In only 30 seconds you will have access to your body composition measurements and results. These results are extremely helpful to gain insight into the following:

1. Find Your Baseline

Scales show you a single number, your weight. The InBody will help you to understand how much of your weight is coming from Skeletal Muscle Mass and Body Fat Mass to give you a baseline of your actual body composition and help you to understand your weight as more than just a number. This is beneficial as health is far more than a number and a number does not always give a clear picture of your body composition and health. It also provides a much more accurate understanding to helping you determine if you need to lose, gain, or maintain.

2. Assess Your Percent Body Fat

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a poor indicator of health because it does not differentiate between Skeletal Muscle Mass and Body Fat Mass. Percent Body Fat (PBF) is a better health indicator, as it compares your fat mass to your weight. This provides a more accurate understanding of how much fat you are losing compared to just losing weight.

3. Measure Segmental Lean Mass

The InBody Scan shows you how many pounds of lean mass you have in each body segment and an understanding of the development of your arms and legs. This is very valuable to understanding if there are any insufficiencies or imbalances along with helping to tailor your exercise program to achieve adequate muscle mass in each of these regions.

4. Evaluate Visceral Fat

Visceral fat refers to the fat that is contained within your abdomen and around your organs. Lowering your visceral fat is significant in reducing your risk for many chronic diseases including diabetes, stroke, and heart disease.

5. Set Goals & Track Progress

The InBody Test and all of the data that it is capable of tracking for you provides you with an incredible way to track real progress through a nutritional and/or fitness based training plan. It eliminates the guesswork and provides you with real insight into how your body is responding to the work that you are putting into your plan.
